Barmy owner Eve Lodge was ‘thrilled and honoured’ to be among some ‘amazing, inspirational people and companies’ at The Pitch Final at the Paintworks in Bristol on Thursday (November 12).
At 17, Eve was one of the youngest entrepreneurs to reach the final 30 and pitch her business at the event, which is widely recognised as the UK’s biggest small business competition.
Reflected Eve: “It was such a perfect event! I loved it!
“And what an experience for me, not only to reach the final and pitch my Barmy business in front of the fantastic judges and potential investors, but to also meet some amazing, inspirational people and companies.
“To be able to talk to people who started up and now run multi-million pound businesses is incredible for an aspiring teenage entrepreneur from Yorkshire!”
“The Pitch organisers did a magnificent job and made everyone feel very welcome and part of it all. I especially liked the way it was stressed that the finalists were not competing against each other but that we were there to support each other. The whole day had a real community feel to it which I loved!
“Thank you to all the fantastic Pitch finalists and judges for all the lovely, brilliant comments about me and Barmy – and the job offers too!! It means a lot!
“Congratulations to the overall winner Resolver!”
One lovely tweet from a fellow Pitch finalist read:
“So glad I got to see to see this pitch. Go support @Barmy_Bunting! I’m ordering my Christmas pudding bunting! @The_Pitch”
