Nominations for Northern Power Women Awards cap a brilliant, Barmy 2015 for Eve!

Barmy owner Eve Lodge has been nominated for two Northern Power Women Awards – capping a brilliant 2015 for the teenage bunting queen!

Eve, 17, has been nominated in the ‘One To Watch’ and ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ categories.

The inaugural Northern Power Women celebrates and showcases role models who take positive steps towards transforming business culture in the north of England, and to benefit the talent of the future.

Said a spokesperson: “Northern Power Women is a campaign to improve gender diversity from the North of England. To motivate, inspire and change. We will increase opportunities for women to drive economic growth and lead economic growth and drive positive change, working alongside businesses, universities and government.

“By enabling development of a strong regional pipeline of female talent, driving gender pay equality and providing women with the knowledge and skills they need to drive their careers forward against the backdrop of the Northern Powerhouse agenda.”

“Whether they’re working in the north or from the north, these awards will recognise the people leading the step change we need in business and raise their profile as role models to inspire current and future leaders.”

The two Northern Power Women Award nominations certainly caps a tremendous 12 months for Barmy owner Eve, who runs her business alongside her A level studies.

Not only has her bunting continued to attract customers from all over the world, as well as her home county of Yorkshire, but it has been used regularly on the set of Coronation Street.

In 2015 Eve also:

  • Reached the final of The Pitch, which is recognised as the UK’s leading small business competition
  • Was named the 2015 ‘Solopreneur’ at the Yorkshire BiY awards
  • Has been nominated in the Young Achiever and Independent Business categories at the Yorkshire Choice Awards (
  • Reached the final of the 2015 national Making Business Happen Awards, being runner-up in the Aspiring Entrepreneur category
  • Was nominated in the Young Achiever category at the 2015 Yorkshire Women of Achievement awards
  • Was a guest speaker at the 2015 Yorkshire Business Festival
