Our Barmy owner Eve Lodge says she is honoured and ‘rather excited’ to be joining some of Yorkshire’s most inspirational women in her hometown of Barnsley later this year.

Eve (pictured below, courtesy of Ian Parker) has been chosen as one of the guest speakers at the Yorkshire Business Festival at Tankersley Manor near Barnsley on Thursday, October 1.

The main speaker and presenter for the day is well-known journalist and former BBC Look North presenter Christa Ackroyd (pictured below).

Other guest speakers include BBC Young Apprentice winner Ashleigh Porter-Exley; well-known award-winning local business woman Jo Maltby from #Wetherbyhour and Handpicked Local; business adviser Sarah Valentine-Bull from Propolis Professional Services; creative expert on design, print and marketing and lover of shoes Dally Riyat from Print Ideas; Jo Tomlinson from boutique accountancy practice Business Works.

Said Eve: “I’m honoured to be asked to be a guest speaker at such a prestigious event – and to be on the same stage as some truly inspirational ladies!

“I’m really looking forward to it – very excited to be honest!

“I would encourage any Yorkshire lady involved in business, in any way, to come along.”

As well as organising the Yorkshire Business Festival, Melanie Malcolm’s Yorkshire Ladies Links are returning for their second conference to The Pavilions of Harrogate.

The Ladies Links will celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2016.
There will be the opportunity to listen to nine inspirational speakers, attend free business workshops and network with over 60 exhibitors.
